Senior Software Engineer

Hawthorne Effect is a successful healthcare startup that's changing the way clinical trials are conducted. Our mission is to make clinical trials more convenient and accessible for patients anywhere, anytime. Our technology platform enables this mission in all phases of the process, from scheduling and managing patient visits to collecting, tracking, and analyzing data that we deliver to hospitals and sponsors of clinical trials. We provide customized solutions for data capture, telehealth, study recruitment, screening, and many other facets of clinical trials.

Hawthorne Effect is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who can help us grow our platform. Our team includes talented people with extensive experience in healthcare (UCSF, Stanford, Edwards Life Sciences, One Medical) and technology (Apple, Oracle, Disney, Lucas, Electronic Arts). This is a chance to get in on the ground floor as we grow our team, our products, and our company.

Responsibilities

•    Write code – Develop apps and services using web-based frameworks. We use PHP / Laravel on the backend and JavaScript / HTML / CSS on the frontend. 

•    Design architecture – Help design and implement the architecture for the Hawthorne Effect platform. 

•    Innovate – Brainstorm and develop new features for all aspects of our platform, including matching algorithms, data capture, analytics, community systems, mobile devices, Bluetooth devices, and more.

•    Collaborate – Work with fellow employees in development, design, clinical operations, and management to build exceptional products that deliver a great user experience.

•    Lead projects and teams – Manage projects and provide leadership to less experienced team members, including mentoring, support, and inspiration.

Requirements

•    Senior level of programming experience (5+ years)

•    PHP and Laravel framework

•    JavaScript

•    HTML and CSS
